Equine Cremation Services
Guardian understands the incredible bond between horses and their caretakers. We believe that all animals — large and small — deserve dignified and compassionate aftercare. Our equine and large animal aftercare services were the first of their kind in the Los Angeles area, and our cremation facilities can accommodate even the largest of animals.
We provide very personalized equine and large animal aftercare. We invite you to accompany your horse on their final journey to Guardian. After your horse’s arrival, we spend time with them and groom them one final time prior to cremation. If you would like, we clip a piece of the tail and mane to be braided with a choice of colored ribbons. If your horse has shoes, they will be returned along with the cremains. We always try to accommodate any special requests you may have regarding your animal’s aftercare.
Equine Cremation Options
Private Equine Cremation
With our private equine cremation service, your horse is lovingly placed unaccompanied in the crematory for a private service, as is done in human cremation services. You are welcome to privately view the service if you wish. This service option includes a beautiful, walnut equine urn with a personalized name plaque.Pricing varies depending on the animal’s weight. Urn upgrades available upon request.
Braided Locks of Hair
Ribbon-braided mane and tail clippings are a personal way to memorialize your horse. With your choice of ribbons, these locks of hair are a very personal keepsake of remembrance and love.
Communal Cremation
Communal cremation is a beautiful option for those who do not wish to have their animal’s ashes returned. Communal represents community. After communal cremation, ashes are respectfully scattered at sea off the coast. This is a beautiful service option for any animal, providing them dignity and respect in aftercare.Communal pricing varies depending on the animal’s weight.
